“When your words came, I devoured them; your word was my delight and the joy of my heart; for I was called by your name, Lord, God of Sabaoth”. (Jeremiah 15:16)

Yesterday, our reflection was on “The Name of God”, today again, we shall continue because this is the basis of our life, our existence, our spirituality, our success, or health and our wealth.
I asked, “by what name do you know God? Who is he to you and what has he revealed to you about himself? Have you had an encounter with him? Do you have a personal relationship with him?
Yesterday, we saw how he revealed himself to Moses, “I am” and through Moses, to the Children of Israel; “The God of your ancestor”, “the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob”. Today, we see how he revealed himself to Jeremiah, how he is made manifest; “Lord, God of Sabaoth”. May we also recall how God called Jeremiah; how Jeremiah encountered God. God told Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you came to birth I consecrated you; I appointed you as prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5)
As our meditation continues on “the Name of God”. we ask a different question today: How does God manifest in your life? This question calls a lot to answer. If you encounter God, he will reveal himself to you; in that revelation, he gives you a name by which you know him. Now, in that encounter, just like in the case of the people of Israel, God will also reveal to you what you must do and what you must not do. Those are the words he gives to you and those words must always be your guide.
When it was given to the people of Israel, the Lord told them: “and these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise”. (Deuteronomy 6:4-7). And what were those words? “He said: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord your God is one Lord; (there is no other) and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might”.
This is the basis of God’s commandments; that is God’s Word. Most times, when the words come, they come with a promise, which he must fulfil, once you obey him.
Hence, in your encounter with God, he reveals himself to you and gives you his words, which you must treasure in your heart. Like Jeremiah told us today, your words came to me and “I devoured them”. When he did, the word became “my delight and the joy of my heart” and then the Lord manifested in him; that is why he was called by God’s name; because the name is made manifest in his life.
“I was called by your name, Lord God of Sabaoth”. – The Name of God!
The way God manifests himself to you (whether in power, might, peace or tranquility) is the way he manifests in you and that is dependent on your obedience to the words he gives you. And when he does, people would see and call you by His Name. That is God’s power for achievements! The Breakthrough that you seek!
